Welcome to Phoenix Flight Training Scotland an exciting new flying school based at Cumbernauld airport, Scotland.
The flying school is operated by two of Scotland's most experienced flight instructors John Allan and Ian Haggis. Both John and Ian are commercial pilots and instructors with some 20,000 hours flying experience between them. Both are commited to offering top quality training.

Cumbernauld Airport is the ideal location in Central Scotland for ab initio flight training due to it's position outside of Controlled Airspace. No lengthy delays and holding with a short transit distance to the local training areas. Easy road access. We have a team of dedicated, friendly and highly experienced full-time Instructors who are passionate about flying and passing their knowledge on to their students.
We have three well maintained aircraft available for Initial Training, Checkouts, Licence Renewals, Skill Tests , Self-Hire and Advanced Training.

We are delighted to announce that we have taken delivery of a new addition to our fleet. G-BMYG is a well equipped Cessna152 Aerobat. Fully certified for aerobatic training as well as standard PPL training.

Meet the team!
Ian Haggis
Ian has had an interesting flying career to date initially instructing RAF Scholarship students before moving on to become a Commercial flight instructor. Ian spent many years (too many!) as an Air Taxi pilot transporting passengers and freight, Air Ambulance and Traffic "eye in the sky" before moving on to become a Corporate pilot. Ian holds a Multi IR and Turbine rating.
John Allan
John has had an extremely varied and interesting flying career to date covering everything from single engined aircraft, Tail-draggers, Home Builds, Historic and Aerobatic aircraft. John is a very experienced and effective ground subjects trainer both at PPL and ATPL level. He is also a CAA Ground and Skills Test Examiner.
